The Henrico County Bar Association is hosting a FREE Ethics CLE for its members on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. I’m pleased to share that the CLE has been APPROVED for 2 hours total of Ethics CLE credits. The CLE will be presented by Joyvan Malbon-Griffin, a regional director and claims attorney with Minnesota Lawyers Mutual (“MLM”). Her presentation will cover the following two topics (one hour each):

1.Succession Planning – This presentation will discuss the common “what ifs” that plague our law firms. Attorneys will learn that whether they work as solo practitioners or at large firms, it is never too early to begin succession planning. The focus will be on preparing attorneys for emergencies, disabilities and retirement while reviewing ethical obligations in wrapping up a practice.

2.#lawyerethics #iykyk – In this discussion, we will provide an overview of the ethical implications of lawyers using social media. We will have an interactive presentation on the ways social media can help our cases and how they can hurt us. We will also examine recent trends and the Model Rules of Professional Conduct that apply.
